Think this is the first time I've ever agreed with Wendy over Clark :P  Thing is, Sarah is too vulnerable and easy to manipulate at her age, and Wendy and Clark as cis people are too clueless for it to possibly have a good outcome

Its a difficult situation, isn't it? On the one hand, you want to protect Sarah because she is still a child and may not completely understand the questions, but at the same time, you want to get her voice out there as an attempt to represent trans* children. Its a situation that needs to be handled with care.

Clark is surprisingly naive. He doesn't know what the reporter's motives are--the reporter may well want to play up the sensationalist angle. And as a result, could end up completely twisting Sarah's story to make Clark and Wendy look bad, and endangering Sarah herself.

I don't like the way the media handles trans* children's stories at all, since the way anything about trans* people is handled normally treats us like sideshow freaks who are there to be gawked at. It may be socially unacceptable to poke us with sticks, but that doesn't mean the dehumanization has stopped :( So this time I have to side with Wendy, normally I don't like her, but this time she is right.

I hope Sarah's father doesn't do the interview. If Sarah ever wants to be stealth, he just ruined the chances for that. Also, she's a little kid! She doesn't deserve the cruel comments such stories usually get. She can give interviews when she's an adult and chooses to do so, but please don't force her to now.
